Jen Bertrand Photography exists to create lifestyle + editorial imagery for creatives, professionals, brands and teens. I have the formal training to deliver high-quality images that, combined with my outside-of-the-box creative eye, turns those flawless images into works of art. I’m known for my modern + edgy approach to my photography (or so I’ve been told), as well as adding my personal touch to the entire client experience.
The Jen Bertrand Photography Experience is all about the details and guiding you step-by-step through the entire process. Like I said, I’m a planner and a communicator. When you contact me, I’ll email you my Client Magazine that outlines all the details about shoots, products, pricing, and what to expect. Once you’re booked, you’ll receive a ton of information on how to prepare for your shoot, what to wear, and a checklist of items to bring to your session so you won’t forget. We’ll chat about your shoot and plan out exactly what you want and need for your session, including mood boards that will provide inspiration to guide our session together.
Professional hair and makeup is truly the foundation to a killer shoot, and it’s part of what sets JBP apart from other photography studios. I work with Dallas’s best hair and makeup artists who understand makeup and color theory, skin care, current trends (including how to avoid those that you’ll regret in 5 years),
and even matching makeup and hair to your wardrobe. When you step out of their chair, you’ll look and feel amazing, beaming with confidence you didn’t know you had. Trust me when I say you should plan on going out to dinner after your shoot to celebrate. It’s an amazing way to punctuate your experience and keep that feeling going!
The shoot itself is a blast and far more laid back than what most people expect. I’ll start by helping you choose your outfits while planning out the corresponding lighting and locations/backdrops. As we shoot, I’ll guide you through posing, expressions, and yes, what to do with your hands (Talladega Nights, anyone?). We’ll have music playing, tell jokes, and make some funny faces, all while creating some amazing images.
The final piece to this equation is the retouching process. I hand process every single image, removing any visible blemishes and toning the images with that characteristic JBP look. I take my time with each image, making sure not to change your inherent features or make you look unrealistic, but rather to enhance your natural beauty. This is simply me capturing the best version of you on your best day. When you receive your final images and products, you will love them, be excited to share them, and then ask, “When can we do this again?!”
